Sharing what works

Tecoma Primary School is committed to evidence-based practice — and to sharing it. Our professional learning resources for educators are in development.

For Educators

Built on the Science of Learning

Our staff have invested deeply in explicit instruction, structured literacy and numeracy, and a consistent whole-school instructional model — well ahead of the system-wide shift announced for Victorian government schools in 2024.

We believe great teaching is a craft that improves through collaboration. That’s why we document our approach in a suite of professional learning modules — from Scarborough’s Reading Rope and the Big Six in the early years, to Explicit Direct Instruction and our Multi-Tiered System of Supports.

Explore our modules below. Educators interested in visiting Tecoma Primary School or learning more about our approach are warmly invited to contact us.

Tecoma Primary School stands with gratitude and respect on Wurundjeri Country. We acknowledge the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation as the Traditional Owners of the land where our children learn, grow and play beneath the mountain ash, and we pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. This land always was, and always will be, Aboriginal land.
